What to Expect

Newborn sessions are slow, calm, and baby-led. We follow your little one’s rhythm — whether that means feeding breaks, snuggles with mama, or a quick nappy change. There’s no rush. These are your memories, captured in a relaxed and loving way.

Best Timing

The best time to do a newborn shoot is within the first 14 days, babies are still sleepy, curly, and generally more cooperative at this stage.

But don’t worry — we do photograph older newborns too! Sessions just become more lifestyle-based and baby may be more alert.

Lifestyle (In-Home) Session Prep

We love capturing you in your natural space, where your story unfolds every day.

1. Tidy Lightly

Focus on areas we’ll shoot in — usually the nursery, master bedroom, living room & kitchen.

No need for perfection — lived-in and cozy is beautiful.

2. Light & Windows

Open up blinds and curtains for that beautiful natural light! We'll turn off overhead lights for a soft, airy feel.

3. Warm the Room

Babies love warmth. Crank up the heat slightly to keep baby cozy, especially if they’ll be undressed.

Feed & Comfort

Try to keep your baby awake for + - 40min before the session.

Feed baby right before the session begins to encourage a sleepy, happy mood.

Have a pacifier on hand, even if baby doesn’t usually take one. It can help soothe between shots.

Keep a wet cloth close by for any spit up or dry milk around your little one's mouth, ensure they have a clean diaper on.

Dress your little one in the first outfit you want him/her to be photographed in

Just Relax

Newborn sessions take their own sweet time. Your only job is to be present and soak in the love. We’ll handle the posing, swaddling, and soothing if needed. Imperfect moments make the most honest memories.
